The Heart of the Pink city is where the City Palace
is situated, a place of pride where the former Maharaja still
lives with his family. The whole complex is wonderfully laid
out with large courtyards, gardens and buildings, which have
both the Rajput and Mughal architecture, combined to give a
beautiful facade.
The Diwan-E-Khas or Hall of Private Audience,
the Mubarak Mahal are exquisitely designed. With exception
of the seven story Chandra Mahal the other areas are used to
display the rich heritage of the Jaipur family whether it be
miniature paintings or textiles and garments, books & manuscripts
or carpets and palanquins or weapons dating back to the 15th
century they are all displayed very artistically to catch
your eye.
