| Jodhpur is the main city of this circuit. It
is linked by Road, train and air from Delhi, Jaipur
& Mumbai. Delhi is 597 kms. from here, Jaipur is
336 kms from here.
Osian : An ancient site, known as land of
temples. It was a Brahamanical centre and later on Jainism
also flourished here. It is 65 kms to the north west
of Jodhpur. There are several beautiful temples and
shrines some of them are as old as of 4th century AD.
The Sun temple is among the oldest temples of this town.
The door way to this temple is one of the finest to
be seen any where in India. The Harihara temple, dating
back to 750 AD is worth seeing. There are many temples
built from time to time which makes this site a temple
complex.
Mandore : 8 kms from Jodhpur lies this ancient
capital of Marwar Now a days it has become a part of
Jodhpur city. The area is surrounded by a landscaped
garden with high rock terraces. Cenotaphs of Jodhpur
rulers and sixteen figures carved out of a single rock
are a part of this garden.
Ludurva : It is a town of greatantiquity
.It was once the capital of Bhati Rajputs before Jaisalmer
was founded. It was a flourished town on the 10th and
11th century. It is 16 Kms north west of Jaisalmer town
which is 285 kms from Jodhpur. There are many monuments
still present in this old town. The exquisite carvings
and remains of other monuments can be worth seeing.
Kolayat : It is situated 45 kms from Bikaner.It
is famous for its holy tank. On the bank of this tank
the famous kapilmuni temple is situated. An annual fair
takes place every year during of this spot in the month
of Oct.-Nov.
Kalibanga : Remains of the pre-Harappan and
Harappan civilizations have been found at this place.
This area is
very popular for archeologists who come here from all
over the world. It is near Hanumangarh town. Hanuman
garh is also an ancient city and was called as Bhatner.
A fort still exists which tells the long & glorious
