Preview Mango Tree Sale ~ 5:00 to 7:00 pm
Members' Tree Sale ~ for Garden members ONLY - Please
remember to bring your membership card.
A limited number of 2001 and 2002 Curator's Choice
and other mango trees will be sold to Garden members
ONLY. Trees limited to 4 trees per member. Trees will
be sold until the quantity set aside for this special
"Preview Mango Tree Sale" is depleted. Additional mango
trees will be available for sale at 9:30 am on Saturday
morning.
Saturday, July 13
Festival Day
All Saturday events are free with admission* to
the Garden.
* Adults $8, Children 3-12 $4, Garden members and
children under 3 free.
Additional Parking: FREE PARKING and SHUTTLE,
running continuously from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, will
be available from St. Thomas Episcopal Parish Church,
5692 SW 88 Street, at the corner of SW 57 Avenue (Red
Rd.) and SW 88 Street (N. Kendall Dr.).
Mango Tree Sales ~ 9:30 am until sold out
Curator's Choice 2002 Selections, a Selection of
Tried-and-True South Florida Favorites and Past Curator's
Choice Favorites for the home gardener with limited
space.
Trees are $30 each / Limit is 4 trees per adult
Trees are approximately 3 feet in height, growing
in a 2 gallon plastic pot. For your convenience a
tree holding area is available on Saturday, July 13.
Sorry we can not pre-sell, hold or ship trees.
Mangos of the World ~ Garden House ~ 9:30 am
to noon
Mangos of the World: A feast for the senses,
this magnificent display includes more than 150 cultivars,
grown in the Fairchild Tropical Garden mango collection,
but with origins from countries circling the globe.
Mango Medics will answer questions about mangos,
or bring a sample of your ailing tree in a sealed
plastic bag Look for them in mango polo shirts.
Tastings & Evaluations ~ Corbin Building
~ 9:30 am to noon
Cultivar tastings and evaluations - 10 cultivars
selected for their varied flavors
Mangoville ~ On the Lawn
Mango Culinary Treats ~ 9:30 am until the samples
are gone. Mango delicacies from Gardner's
Markets, Creative Tastes, Einstein Bros., and JoAnna's
Marketplace.
Mango Market ~ 9:30 am to 4:30 pm: fruit sales,
baked goods, jams, jellies, chutneys & more .

Mangoville ~ 9:30 am to 4:30 pm: mango inspired
paintings, mosaic pots and gifts, fertilizer, fruit
pickers, Mango Cafe, mango smoothies
Book Signing ~ 11:00 am. The Great Mango

Limited Edition Cultivar Tastings & Evaluations

Mango gifts, treats and books, including the
authoritative book A Guide to Mangos in Florida,
by Dr. Richard J. Campbell, Fairchild's Senior Curator
of Tropical Fruit, will be available at a special
price of $10.00 (regularly $29.95).

Mango fun for children ~ mango face painting
and mango temporary tattoos, Mango Theatre, Mr. &
Ms. Mango Head contest, decorate a mango seed, plant
a mango tree, and more. . .

Mr.
and Ms. Mango Head Competition.
Mango Cook-off: Bring your soon-to-be-famous favorite
mango creation.
Awards Given in three categories: Condiment/Appetizer,
Entree, Dessert
Entries for mango contest and mango cook-off accepted
on the Loggia 1:00 to 1:30 pm.
Entry Form available at event or by calling 305/667-1651.
Requirements: entry must serve 6; written recipe;
written ingredients
Winners announced at 3:00 pm.

Come join Dr. Richard J. Campbell, Senior Curator
of Tropical Fruit, and mango auctioneer Jimmy Howell
on a journey through the world of mango lore and modern-day
ethnobotany. Sarong-clad models will strut our rarest,
heirloom fruit of the "Mangos of the World" display.
Bid on the rare and precious fruit and have your own
cultivar tasting from the fascinating and flavorful
cultivars and specialty assortments. Available this
year are a very limited number of selected trees that
will wow and amaze you. Bid on some real treasures!
